3 Days in Rome

I'm putting together a rough outline of an itinerary for the days that we are in Rome. Here's a guess of how we could use the time, but we'll see how things go and most everything is flexible (aside from the reserved ticket time at the Borghese Museum on Wednesday morning).

Tuesday, 5/7

-Arrive in Rome around 1:30pm - depends on the train running on time, so who knows.

-Cab it to the hotel and check in

-Wander through the heart of Rome

-See Caravaggio paintings, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, a little Bernini, eat gelatto

-Find an amazing place to eat dinner

-At night wander to Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Via del Corso, Piazza de Popolo?

This is the actual view from our breakfast table!

Wednesday, 5/8

- Eat breakfast on our hotel rooftop with a view

- Walk over to Borghese Gardens

- 11:00 - Tour of Borghese Gallery

- After tour late lunch around Borghese neighborhood

- National Museum or Colosseum/Forum

- A late afternoon walking tour of Trastevere

- Enjoy dinner and passegiata in classic Roman fashion

Thursday, 5/9

-All things Vatican City - St. Peters, Vatican Museum. We should book tickets in advance for the Vatican Museum so we can skip the line. We can do this online or at our hotel.

We can view Michaelangelo's Sistine Chapel, Piata, and paintings. A little Raphael, Bernini, a million tapestries and sculptures and the opportunity to gather random pope memorabilia. We really should have a competition to see who can find the strangest item to be branded with the popes image - seriously that guy is on everything!

- After all things Vatican we can wander back towards our hotel neighborhood and indulge in a long Roman dinner on our last night in Italy!
